The Last seed
Documentary
Film

Our most vital resource is facing its greatest threat.
The Last Seed is a documentary that questions the current state of food and agriculture in Africa. It questions the way farming is changing and the wisdom that has been lost. The film needed several animated sections to explore themes such as the organic adaptation of seeds which are concepts that are best explained graphically.

The eleven sections added to the film include two different styles of motion design. The first being a news story style, which includes snippets of articles written on the subject. The second relies on abstract shapes representing seeds, pollination and diversity. Both styles serve to back up and give visual context to what is being said.
